At one time or another, I've been a war correspondent, media executive, paratrooper and officer. And all before I decided to become a woman, a decision that has shocked, amazed and fascinated people around the World as I chose to do it in the glare of television and media.

Why? For the simple reason that I believe the World unfairly prosecutes transgendered people for  being different. In the UK, we have laws protecting us - but that is not the same as acceptance by society. In changing my gender, I have lost my career, my family, most of my former comrades-in-arms and suffered verbal and physical abuse. Why?

 

Yet, for all the pain that others cause, I am happy and content as the person I now am. Hopefully, by reading this site, you can see that being transgendered is not a freak show, we are real people with real feelings.
