I've just arrived in Bangkok, Thailand for a modelling assignment and a bit of telly work for a company over here. As usual, the Thais are proving lovely hosts. We are treated so differently in this country. I've also had a bit of a make-over, the start of a new image for the Miss International Queen contest in November. I've started rehearsal, costumes are bing made, but most of all, I've been signed to a new company that specialises in hair replacement for women and men suffring from alopecia, cancer and hair loss issues. For me, that meant extensions and a lot of other work. I'll post some of the results soon, and a link to their web-site - but in the meantime, here's a quick photo of my arrival in Bangkok, on a balmy 36 degree day! Oh, and I'm carrying my favourite D&G bag...Well, you can never have enough bags, can you?
I was at "Sparkle" in Manchester's gay village, on the 28th of June, supporting my friends from the Bolton Laser Clinic. It was great fun. here I am with a couple of friends I met on the day:
Watch for my review of The Midland Hotel, coming soon in The Mail On Sunday.
Here I am waiting for Clark Gable to take me to dinner..... Next month, I'll be in Aberdeen, my own home town, to present Raindowfest, the premier LGBT festival in Scotland. Watch out for my behind-the-scenes report on Scottish Television.Following some really distressing headlines, I have placed 3 complaints with the PCC against major national newspapers following their allegations that I trousered 250K for "hurt feelings" regarding my treatment by the Army over my gender re-assignment. That story is NOT true, I have not benefited by a penny for "hurt feelings".I have, however, resigned my commission, following my long-awaited transition interview. I leave having been recognised by the Army as a woman and proud of all I achieved. The reason? Well, I'm 43, there gets a point where operational tours are not quite the adventure they once were, I've been everywhere anyhow, and a younger generation could better fill the slot. I do intend, however, to carry on as a journalist and hope to report on Afghanistan, and my old Regiment, later this year.
A lovely lady, Clare, is paintng my picture for an exhibition she is planning on "the person within", to be shown in Lancaster later this year. here's the photo she is using as her inspiration:
